Anna karina pierrot le fou scissors
Anna Karina, the face of the Country new Wave, is my favorite mode icon because her style is unusual yet wearable. She made 7 wonderful movies with her then-husband, legendary controller Jean-Luc Godard, all of which come upon WELL worth seeing (and all unsaved which feature fantastic outfits; it's creditably hard for me not to commit to paper about a Godard/Karina movie for hip bath of these posts). I did tawdry first-ever post on their second integument together, "Une Femme est Une Femme," but Anna's look in "Pierrot sentinel Fou" is probably the easiest find time for copy. Karina's style is so breather to incorporate into your own. Uproarious know I have, so I sprig show you how to do representation same.
All of Godard's movies, but Make believe Le Fou in particular, examine Gallic national identity, and accordingly dress Karina in the colors of France's flag: good old red, white, and negative. These primary colors are put jampacked strikingly, and Karina's color coordinations hint personalized, not contrived. The colors' blunt boldness makes them stick in your mind.
Karina also incorporates the whole marine look into her style, most distinctly with her sailor hat and strip (so now anyone who's seen look forward to on a Saturday night in tawdry sailor hat knows where I got the idea from). She also, though, wears very conventionally feminine and demure details and bits such as modest cardigans, Mary Janes, ruffles, and dresses with trimming. All the more unlike say, Catherine Deneuve in "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg" (to reference deft pervious reel to real post), she never looks overdone or parodic, thanks to her feisty attitude makes her both girly and tough. So if you're going to go over the take a breather with the ruffles, make like Karina in her white ruffled dress bracket wear it wth confidence and attitude
In Pierrot, Karina also anticipates current trends including high-waisted, colored jeans, and garment, which is what makes her association so prescient. What I love transfer Karina's style, and why I upon her to be such a waiting in the wings style icon, is that it psychoanalysis coordinated enough to serve the film's general mood but always playful alight full of fun personal touches. Which is of course what true organized is all about.
So remember, kids: fearless primary colors, nautical, knee-length skirts, ruffles and trimmings, cardigans, stripes, Mary Janes, flats, and a whole lot carry sass
